Thank you first of all to everyone. Yesterday marked the first full week of testing the voting system. When we launched the Beta site the intention was to get feedback on the site, and determine some of the bugs in the system. We told 350 of you, the designers that said they’d like to work with us, or that were interested in what we were doing. We didn’t tell any of our friends, family, or contacts. We wanted you to have the first peak into the system, and to be involved with it’s improvements. The 350 of you told a few friends, and that turned into 26,455 votes in 7 days. WE ARE VERY EXCITED! THANKS.
Throughout this process we found 2 bugs in the system. One was that we really need all new visitors to log in before they are able to vote. Before we allowed any user to vote 5 times first. That opened up to a lot of voter manipulation combined with problem number two. Two was that the system allowed users to refresh the screen in a number of different places on the home page, and to have two new images pop up in the fashion battle. This led to voters being able to sit on the home page and refresh the system until only their designs came up and vote on their’s only. This led to a very unfair advantage when used.
We are in the process of working out a few more bugs, but we’d like your opinion. Taking into consideration that the previous week’s voting may have had some unfairness to it, we would like to know if you think it would be appropriate for us to reset the voting system to zero, and start over where everybody would have a fair chance? Please respond here, or if you’d be more comfortable please e-mail us at jimmyandpat@collarfree.com.
Thanks again everybody.
